Some attendees at one of the world’s largest mining conferences called on the Canadian government to create a revised corporate social responsibility plan with more investigative strength for complaints, training for Canadian diplomats and practical guidance for Canadian mining companies working abroad.

In the corridors of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada convention in Toronto, attendees said they were encouraged by the government’s move to review its strategy. The review has been ongoing since last year.
