Leading up to the Three Amigos Summit – or North American Leaders’ Summit – Carleton University commemorated 70 years of bilateral relations between Canada and Mexico on Jan. 28 with a seminar on challenges and opportunities. Hosted by Carleton International and the Embassy of Mexico in Canada, the event featured expert panelists from both countries – including keynote speaker Sergio Alcocer, Mexico’s undersecretary for North America. Carleton President Roseann O’Reilly Runte opened the event by emphasizing the importance of Canadian-Mexican relations in academia.
